What is a Coalition?

 

Coalition comes from the Latin word  Coalesce, which means 1.  To grow together; FUSE 2.  To come together so as to form one whole; UNITE.  A "Coalition"  is a temporary alliance of factions, parties, or nations; a combination into one body; a diverse group that combines their resources to create change.

 

Sarasota Coalition on Substance Abuse, Inc. [SCoSA] is a non-profit organization that advocates for substance abuse prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery in Sarasota County through collaborative efforts.

 

SCoSA, as a collaborative organization, is committed to empowerment and reclamation of lives through increased community awareness and advocacy for promoting substance abuse free environments.
