05.13.2006 - 3rd Annual Sarasota Sunset Bike Ride

The 3rd Annual SARASOTA SUNSET BIKE RIDE to benefit SCoSA was held on

Saturday, May 13, 2006

on Siesta Key Beach

This annual event is FAMILY focused, and features two bike routes (4.2 mile and 17 mile), live entertainment, dinner, a silent auction and raffle drawings. 

The proceeds benefit the Sarasota Coalition on Substance Abuse, Inc., a 501[c][3] organization.

     We wish to thank all who attended & supported our cause at our annual bike ride on May 13, 2006.

     It was a perfect day at the beach - low 80's and low humidity and plenty of sunshine.  The ride was kicked off by ABC 7 anchor Scott Dennis, and led by the Sarasota Sheriff's Office deputies.  This year riders participated from all over Florida.

     There were 2 lucky winners of the Fuji Captiva beach bikes, and more door prizes were awarded, as well as a 50/50 raffle winner. 
 

     Everyone enjoyed the barbeque dinner provided by Prudential Palms Realty, with refreshments provided by Coca-Cola and Culligan water.

   The Schmitz Brothers band played during the entire event, and once again this year, the most popular item in the silent auction was the one year family membership donated by the Sarasota Family YMCA. 

Congratulations to the McINTOSH MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM for winning the

2006 School Team Challenge and a pizza party!
